Health Promotion & Wellness Practice - Sligo
This programme aims to introduce students to the core concepts and competencies required for health promotion and wellness practice. Students will become proficient in utilising evidence informed practice, statistical and data analysis and in health behaviour change approaches.
Who should apply?
As Healthy Ireland encourages all sectors of society to engage in promoting health, graduates and those working in a wide variety of backgrounds from any discipline are suitable to apply - including, but not limited to, health science/ health promotion, sport and leisure, education, health and safety, social sciences and childcare.

Applications with a 2.2 Honours award in any discipline may apply. Applicants who do not meet this entry criterion may be considered through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).

When to Apply
Flexible learning courses are popular, and they fill on a first come, first served basis. There are two major intake periods throughout the academic year, September and January.
For January start courses, applications typically open in October, and for September start courses, applications typically open in February. Closing dates for applications are listed on the individual course webpages.

1 year part-time, online delivery.
Study Hours
Students are expected to attend 2 lectures each week in the evening which can range from 1-3 hours. It is recommended that students should try to allow for 5-6 hours per week per 5 credit module to their studies.
