Healthcare Management - Leading Digital Health Transformation
Why Digital Health Transformation?
As a healthcare professional, do you often consider the obstacles in your care setting and know that there are better, simpler, more efficient solutions? All healthcare professionals have aspirations as to how healthcare could be more accessible and timelier in order to deliver better patient outcomes and enhance healthcare delivery, and while many are aware of digital health solutions – many are not sure how to make 'change' happen.
The Professional Diploma in Leading Digital Health Transformation is a nine-month online programme which aims to provide all healthcare professionals with the ultimate toolkit to explore digital solutions to our everyday healthcare challenges and to influence, lead and enable digital health transformation in any healthcare setting in support of improved and empowered patient care.
Delivering healthcare to a high standard is more challenging than ever, as the system struggles to tackle ever increasing rates of chronic disease, a global ageing population, and unprecedented demands on health services. More of the same will not deliver for patients, health systems and services, and it will not deliver for the health professionals within them, now stretched more than ever. Digital health adoption is the key enabler to elevating health services, reducing hospital admissions and length of stay, supporting primary and preventative care and improving patient outcomes.
Digital health starts with you, and you are already using digital tools to support care delivery daily. If you have used an electronic blood pressure monitor, a glucometer or read a scan on a PC, you are already engaged in digital health. Digital solutions to healthcare problems are being developed at a rapid pace - consider digital diagnostic images, e-referrals, e-prescriptions, electronic records, remote monitoring devices and telehealth. It’s no longer 'optional' to engage because digital healthcare is healthcare now and into the future.
This exciting, disruptive and future-focused programme will enable all healthcare professionals to realise and engage their digital mindset and capability while developing the knowledge, strategies and best practices to design future solutions to solve everyday problems, and to enable and support the implementation of digital technologies in patient care across their healthcare organisation.
This is not a technical course, but is however powered by leaders in technology, including Microsoft. The programme will guide healthcare professionals to understand and discover the endless possibilities that are available to deliver better, more timely and more patient-focused care through digital tools including data analytics, artificial intelligence, augmented reality, virtual reality, remote diagnostics, 3D printing and virtual care. You will be supported to gain the knowledge and language needed to engage with technology experts, in order to impact your care setting.
Ultimately, this programme will support your development and empower your ability to drive meaningful change for the future of healthcare. As a champion of digital health transformation in your organisation, you will be enabled to support your colleagues at all levels across multidisciplinary teams to join you on that journey.
This course is suitable for clinicians, interdisciplinary health and social care professionals, healthcare managers and administrators as well as those working in the wider healthcare sector who wish to knowledgeably influence and enable transformation in their organisations and across the wider healthcare system.
