International Business
The MSc in International Business is designed to provide you with the knowledge, skills and competencies required to operate and build a career in the global market place. The programme is designed to stimulate the confidence to analyse, think critically, problem solve and provide leadership in a globalised, multicultural organisation. There is a strong emphasis on the development of key management skills around research, strategic planning and effective communication.
On completing this programme, you will be expected to be able to critically appraise the theory and practice of international business and demonstrate your expertise and competence in meeting the challenges and opportunities (professional and personal) of international business.
This Master’s attracts many international students and their presence and contribution, along with the learning approach adopted, enhances the student learning experience. A small number of places are available to students to complete Semester 2 at a leading French business school.

Curriculum
This flexible and wide-ranging programme is available on a 1 year full-time basis or 2 year part-time (via classes held during the working day). The balance of options covers a broad scope of management and business topics, all vital to grasping the theory and practice of the global marketplace.
In the Autumn Trimester, students complete 3 core modules.
In the Spring Trimester, students complete 2 core modules plus 1 option module.
In the Summer Trimester, students complete 1 core module plus 1 of 3 pathways, choosing between an internship, consultancy project or 2 additional option modules.
Part of the international course experience includes an opportunity for selected students to spend Semester 2 in a leading French business school.

Entry requirements
Please review the entry requirements below. The UCD Smurfit Admissions Office staff have expertise in reviewing international qualifications from around the world and will be able to assess your application's comparability to the Irish entry requirement.
A minimum second-class honours degree (or equivalent) in Business, Commerce, Business Administration, International Economics (where a number of business modules were taken in that Economics degree) or a closely related area.
OR
A primary degree with a minimum of three years’ relevant work experience.

12 months full-time, 24 months part-time.
