Renewable Energy Systems
Course Overview
The MSc in Renewable Energy Systems is designed to produce graduates with a good theoretical and practical understanding of renewable energy technologies. The programme critically investigates the energy output from wind, solar, ocean and biomass technologies from a technical and economic viewpoint.
The primary aim of this programme is to produce effective engineers and technical workers for a professional career in energy and, in particular, renewable energy. The programme spans a minimum of three semesters, i.e. beginning in September of the first year and ending in the following September (one calendar year).

Entry requirements
A second class honours degree (2.2) in an engineering or science discipline is the basic requirement. Candidates with alternative qualifications are also encouraged to apply.
The closing date for applications is usually June 20th each year however, applications may still be considered after this date. Depending on the number of applications, candidates may be short-listed, i.e. a qualified applicant is not automatically guaranteed a place.

3 semesters part-time, blended delivery.
Course Delivery
The M.Sc. degree spans a minimum of three semesters. This includes two semesters of teaching and one dedicated to the thesis write up. The programme consists of a taught syllabus, that includes assignments, and an individual research thesis. Lectures are generally convened on Mondays and Fridays.
All mandatory subjects, including the research project, plus any two of the elective lecture modules, are required for successful completion of the M.Sc. programme.
Students completing all mandatory subjects but not the research project can graduate with a Postgraduate Diploma in Renewable Energy Systems.
