Translational Medicine - Research

Our School has an expansive and dynamic research portfolio. We place emphasis on five key research areas – Metabolic Medicine (obesity, diabetic complications), Inflammation, Precision Oncology, Cellular Physiology and Clinical Research.



We continue to develop strong relationships with other research centres both nationally and internationally - developing partnerships, and ensuring UCD is central to the national research and trial ecosystem.



Our 180+ research funded staff have contributed to the development of approximately +€118 million external research funding in the last five years. Over 1,500 publications are produced per year.



We are committed to ensuring our patients, their families, and the wider community are aware and informed.
