About University of Strathclyde
Postgraduate study
Our priority is to help you develop the professional skills and knowledge you need, and employers truly value. Ranked 3rd in the UK in the 2014 Legal Week Student Survey for the quality of our teaching, we offer unrivalled opportunities for experiential learning through our award winning Law Clinic and classes which blend real life experience and academic study. Our reputation for innovation is second to none. We were one of the first Law Schools to offer a part time LLB, deliver webcast based teaching, and pioneer a transactional-learning based Diploma in Professional Legal Practice.
Responding to students’ needs and key social and legal developments, the provision of innovative taught programmes are another of Strathclyde’s hallmarks. Law degrees are not only available in traditional formats, but by two year accelerated, or part time evening attendance. Masters degrees such as construction, human rights law and internet law and policy are available for evening study or by online distance learning to suit the needs of professionals and students abroad.
Research
Strathclyde Law School is committed to excellence in both teaching and research as our recent rankings testify. In the 2014 Research Excellence Framework we were ranked joint 1st in Scotland and placed amongst the top 15 UK Law Schools, based on Times Higher Education intensity rankings that take account of the proportion of eligible staff submitted.
Many of our research centres and courses have an international perspective and our Graduate School provides a welcoming and supportive environment for international students to integrate into the University and explore the city and rest of Scotland. Our innovative postgraduate courses are designed to help our students succeed in an increasingly technological age and to do so with social conscience.
