Graduate scheme
Job Description:
BSG is seeking candidates for 6-12 month placements at some of the most prestigious private membership country clubs and hotels along the east coast of the USA as well as luxury lodges in New Zealand. Candidates generally work in the Food & Beverage, Culinary or Golf departments in the USA. In New Zealand we offer F&B, Culinary and Golf roles, but also have a few openings in Client Services, Front Desk, and Housekeeping. This is ideal for current students who have a placement year, as well as soon to be graduates and recent alumni studying Hospitality, Tourism, Business, Hotel Management, Events, Culinary or even Sports. These are not management positions. Instead, they offer an experience of operational, service, and managerial protocols that are invaluable to the career-oriented student.
BSG offer various start dates each year with the majority being in May & June or September & October.
Benefits:
Not only does BSG not charge any fees for its services, we also have our US partners subsidize your J1 Visa cost, so you pay just $1,275 for a 12-month Visa, including Health Insurance and SEVIS Fees. This is generally 60% cheaper than other Visa programs to the USA. For UK, EU and Canadian citizens we also have limited options for students to defer their payments until after they arrive in the USA so they can pay $0 up front! Some UK Schools offer a Turing Scheme which may also pay some or all of your Visa costs, enquire with your individual university.
On top of that, all positions in the US are paid starting at $14 per hour, with overtime rates for any hours worked over 40 per week, but your exact rate may vary based on experience. In New Zealand the starting rate is approximately $24 NZD. You will be informed of your specific pay after interviewing with your potential Club employer.
Our US employers also offer airport pickup, daily transportation to have from work, arrange for furnish housing and provide free meals while you are working!
Finally, BSG offers advice on your CV and coaching prior to setting you up for an interview with one of our partner clubs. Once a position is secured, we assist with the Visa process and offer pre-arrival advice. After you arrive in the USA, BSG provides continued support and coordinates a slate of American cultural experiences.
